How do I do a Reading? In any reading, what do you want to achieve? My goal is to question my place and options so I can make choices for good fortune and avoid bad fortune. Write what you want to know, or a problem that needs to be solved -ask about an action and outcome. Use a question form and toss three coins. They will land in one of four ways. The sum of the three coins will be 6, 7, 8, or 9. Draw an even number as a broken line (Yin) and an odd number as a solid line (Yang). Throw the coins five more time to create your hexagram from the bottom up as if laying the foundation for a new dream. This animation for 30c Development 53t shows how to build your hexagram that has three active lines. Your results will vary. If you receive a 6 or 9 in your coin toss, note a dot next to the line. These numbers are active lines. Active lines give you specific advice in direct response to the question. It tells you something. It may confirm what you know, or it may require you to meditate on a decision. Active lines uniquely change polarity to create new hexagrams. Drawn the new hexagrams and find additional wisdom by using the Master Map to identify each hexagram. Once you place the hexagrams in order, read the primary hexagram and active lines. This is the direct response. Then read the other hexagrams in change cycle order and let the active lines tell a change cycle story. With practice comes knowledge, and it is up to you to decide how far into the meditation to go. Is every reading this involved? No. As you bond working with Heaven to Earth, I Ching, you will find ways to focus on what you are looking for in an answer. It depends on the question. Experience will reveal question and answer shortcuts. Heaven to Earth, I Ching makes finding a particular change cycle easy using the associated hexagram numbers. There are advanced meditations on a change cycle that can be learned. For example, your primary hexagram is the "answer," but not necessarily "the now" of the question. See example reading for what I'm saying.... What is the general practice reading? Write your question, toss the coins, build your hexagram, and read hexagram counsel and changing line counsel. Possibly make another hexagram if changing lines. What is a Heaven to Earth reading? Use the active lines to create additional hexagrams, put these into change cycle order, meditate on the timing of change cycle hexagrams and question events, find your chronological link from change cycle counsel to events, then look to other change cycle hexagrams and active lines to learn the right moment to make a different decision. Learn to recognize events as they unfold so you can influence the outcome. Co-create your Universe. This is one Tao. As real events in the question change, you can recognize the right moment to make the right choice to find a new experience. This can be a quite satisfying experience. Once this has worked, you will wonder why others are not using this method. |
